Tristra Newyear is an author who writes historical fantasies and scientific romances. She explores our human and technological relationships, connections to something greater than ourselves, and understanding the past. She creates stories that transport readers to another world or era by playing with historical events and human foibles. Ms. Newyear has a doctorate in history and area studies, which gives her a profound interest in exploring the details of the past and how they speak to our collective future. She is one of three recipients of the 2023 Lena Feiner Research Grant.
